Founded in 1977 as McIntosh Travel; agency owner, Mitchell Hicks, joined McIntosh with the UNIGLOBE Travel International franchise system in 1987 and became UNIGLOBE McIntosh Travel. At UNIGLOBE's 2004 International Conference in Las Vegas, UNIGLOBE McIntosh Travel received the distinctive honor of being named "UNIGLOBE AGENCY-OF-THE-YEAR" out of more than 1200 UNIGLOBE franchises in 24 countries around the world. In addition, Hicks was recognized as the InternationalFranchisee-of-the-Year in 2004. UNIGLOBE McIntosh Travel had previously been named AGENCY-OF-THE-YEAR within UNIGLOBE's (Southeast US) region for two consecutive years--1998 & 1999.
